Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. It is located 120 km from Arusha. It covers 2,850 square km of grassland and floodplains, and a large proportion of tall acacia woodland just south of the open grass plains of southern Maasai land.

Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world. The name "Serengeti" comes from the Masai language and appropriately means an “endless plain”. The park covers 14,763 square km, which reach up to the Kenyan border and extends almost to Lake Victoria.It was accepted by the World Heritage Convention as a World Heritage Site and Biosphere in 1981.

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara. The Ngorongoro Area includes Olduvai Gorge, and a huge expanse of highland plains, scrub bush, and forests that cover approximately 8300 square kilometers.

Lake Manyara National Park is an incredibly diverse park for its size (only 325 square kilometers/125 square miles) with breathtaking panoramic views. Ernest Hemingway said Lake Manyara is the “loveliest lake in Africa.”

Tourists hardly know this wild, still nearly unexplored landscape. You will be particularly impressed with it. Lake Eyasi is mildly alkaline lake located just south of the Serengeti Plaines and about 155 km west of Arusha. It lies on one of the oldest sections of Eastern Rift Valley. Seasonal water level fluctuations in the lake are dramatic. During the dry season the lake may dry up almost entirely, especially in drier years.

Arusha National Park formerly Ngurdoto National park until 1967, owes its name to the Warusha people who live around the park. It is a breathtaking area which covers only about 139 square km (54 square miles). In comparison to other northern national parks in Tanzania, it is the smallest national park.
