Why Should You Climb Kilimanjaro?
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the continent of Africa. This makes Kilimanjaro one of the Seven Summits. The Seven Summits are the tallest mountain peaks on each continent. Mount Kilimanjaro is also the easiest of the Seven to trek to the top. You’ll hike on trails the entire time. No ropes or mountaineering skills are required.
Kilimanjaro is also the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. This means it is not in a mountain range but rather stands alone on the Serengeti plains. This feature is so unique it is even noted by the band Toto (and covered by Weezer) in their song “Africa”: “As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti”.
Since you are already visiting Tanzania, you should not miss booking a safari to the world’s best safari parks. Schedule enough time for the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area and the magical Serengeti National Park. We know you won’t regret it!
Do You Have a Passion for Adventure?
Every year, more than 35,000 people attempt to climb Kilimanjaro. Many, however, fail to reach the summit. Choosing a reputable operator is the most important aspect of making the summit. Many people choose budget operators based solely on the cost of the climb. Even though Kilimanjaro is walkable, preparation is crucial. It is therefore risky and unsafe to pick an operator based solely on price.
We have guides and porters who have climbed Kilimanjaro for many years. When you climb with us, we send a team with you that is not only experienced but also friendly and skilled at their job. They want you to have the best experience you can possibly have. They work extremely hard to make sure that your adventure far exceeds anything you could have imagined.
Why the Name Kilimanjaro Sunrise?
We chose to name our Kilimanjaro trekking company, Kilimanjaro Sunrise, based on the magical moment you experience when the sun rises over Mawenzi peak on summit day. After several hours of hiking toward the Crater Rim, the sun rising will lift your spirits. From there it is only a short trek to Uhuru Peak. The encouraging warmth will drive you to finish what you set out to do—Summit Kilimanjaro!
Are you ready to fulfill your dream of summiting Kilimanjaro? We can help. We have a more than 90% success rate and have been guiding Kilimanjaro for more than 20 years. Our experience, equipment, and staff will make your dream a reality. Let’s do this together. Let’s climb Kilimanjaro!
Recommended Kilimanjaro Routes
W hether it is your first time trekking or you’ve climbed many peaks, we offer several routes to climb Kilimanjaro. Selecting the appropriate route for you will maximize your enjoyment and chance of success. We will be with you every step of the way.
There are six main routes on Kilimanjaro. However, we only offer the Lemosho, Northern Circuit, Machame, and Rongai routes as group climbs. We believe these are the best routes on Mount Kilimanjaro.
Furthermore, we recommend taking the longer routes, ones that are on the mountain for eight or nine days, since they will give you the highest chance of successfully summiting.
In addition to the below recommended four group climb routes, we do offer private climbs on all the major routes on the mountain. No other parties or people will be added to your private climb.
