How to Get to Your Hotel in Arusha

After a long flight or an adventurous overland journey, the last thing you want to worry about is how to get to your hotel. Fortunately, getting to Arusha is easy and convenient, no matter how you arrive. Whether you’re landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, traveling from Nairobi, or driving yourself, there are several simple options to reach your hotel and start your Tanzanian adventure.

Getting to the hotel in Arusha

Arrange a Pickup with Us from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

The easiest and most comfortable way to get to your hotel is to arrange a private pickup with us. For a fee, we’ll meet you directly at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive you to your hotel in Arusha. Our air-conditioned vehicle can accommodate up to six people and their luggage, making it an excellent option for groups or families. You’ll be greeted by one of our friendly drivers holding a sign with your name, so you can relax knowing someone is waiting for you as soon as you arrive.

Take a Taxi from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO)

If you prefer to make your own arrangements, taxis are readily available outside the arrivals area at JRO. You can negotiate a fare directly with the driver or choose one of the official airport taxis. The ride to Arusha typically takes about 60–90 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Arrive by Bus from Nairobi

Travelers who fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Kenya often arrive in Arusha by bus. We recommend Riverside Shuttle. The trip from Nairobi takes approximately five to six hours, depending on the border crossing at Namanga. You can pick up your visa there. Once you reach the Arusha bus depot, we can arrange to pick you up for a fee and take you directly to your hotel.

Arrive by Personal Vehicle

If you’re driving yourself (highly discouraged—worst driving we’ve ever seen) or a friend is dropping you off, reaching your hotel in Arusha is straightforward. The city is well connected by major highways from Kilimanjaro International Airport, Moshi, and Nairobi. Many hotels offer secure parking, so you can rest easy knowing your vehicle is safe while you enjoy your stay.

Final Thoughts

No matter how you arrive, we’re here to make your journey climbing Kilimanjaro, going on safari, or both, smooth and stress-free. Let us know your travel plans in advance, and we’ll ensure you reach your hotel as easily as possible.
